SSHJM-WACFO theory of change is built on an strong and comprehensive frame aimed at tackling the intricate challenges of poverty, injustice, and exclusion

The missionary approach to development intervention (MADI) is central to the SSHJM-WACFO development philosophy. it embodied our faith-inspired dedication to servicing the poor, marginalized and excluded, rooted in the principle of compassion, solidarity and accompaniment, and ensuring that our intervention are transformative and deeply centered on human dignity.

Different development approaches applied by WACFO include:

Reaching the Furthest Behind First. The organization intentionally identifies and supports individuals and communities most affected by poverty, exclusion, and disability. Special emphasis is placed on Children and Youth with Disabilities (CWDs/YWDs), ensuring equitable access to services and support for households and communities facing extreme vulnerability.

 

Intersectoral Approach. Multiple sectors education, health, climatic resilient Livelihoods, and rehabilitation are integrated to ensure quality, inclusive services. Institutions like Victor Braun Inclusive School, Guadalupe Rehabilitation Centre, and Winefride Tyrrell Training Centre provide holistic support that includes youth with disabilities from Rural communities, emphasizing lifelong learning and skill-building.

 

Community Led Development Approach. Community participation is central to the organization's strategy. Local stakeholders are empowered to actively engage in disability prevention and management. Gender-sensitive initiatives support women, children, and vulnerable adults while also involving men in caregiving and disability-inclusive development.

 

Disability Inclusion. SSHJM-WACFO gives high priority to disability-inclusive development within its mission. This strategy ensures that people with disability are not only recipient but also key contributors to development initiative by eliminating physical, social, and systemic obstacle, SSHJM-WACFO create space where accessibility and inclusion are essential foundations
